About the Artist

Matthew R. Burns is an emerging San Francisco artist with specialized range in caricature, graphic and fine art approaches to the visual. He asks only to have his art defined by you, not the rulebooks.

As a resident of the Bay Area since 1997, Matt makes the Pacific coast his theater and enjoys creating and exploring through artistic expressions. An avid reader and culinary risk-taker, he’s often stirring up impressions from his New England roots and combining them with his contemporary surroundings.

Matthew earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Jefferson Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the State University of New York, College at Oswego. He is completing his Masters of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University San Francisco.

He has worked in the fields of hospitality, business, leadership development and radio sales. He continues to make art fulltime and journeys towards a path of art education and philanthropy. His passions abound.
